Willow-leaved Hakea Hakea salicifolia

Hakea salicifolia is a large, bushy shrub or small tree up to 5-8 metres high and it lives for around 12 to 14 years.

Flowers are white and grown on the leaf axils. They generally appear in late winter to spring.
The flowers develop into woody seed pods about 20mm long and containing two winged seeds. This is the usual number for all Hakea species.

The pods do not shed the seed until environmental stresses occur. This could be a drought or bushfire.
