Pouched Coral Fern Gleichenia dicarpa

Pouched Coral Fern is also known as Tangle Fern and is found in eastern Australia, New Caledonia and New Zealand.

It likes to grow in wet places like this and is often seen beside waterfalls.

The thick and tangled roots help to prevent erosion of the creek bank during flooding rain and the dense stems collect sediment that feeds the plant.
