Mistletoes, like this Erect Mistletoe, are hemiparasitic plants, like Devil’s Twine. This means that it has leaves to make sugars from sunlight but it also obtains water and minerals from it’s host plant.

The mistletoe bird collects the seed and takes it to another tree to plant it on that tree's branches.

In this area it is mainly on the branches of Black Sheoaks.
