Brush Box                                                          Lophostemon confertus

Brush Boxes grow between 10 and 30 metres tall and have a crown of dense green leaves. They have been planted in a line alongside the path, beside the oval.

As you can see the bark is rough on the lower trunk and smooth pink in the upper trunk and branches.

It flowers in December and January and then it has a thick covering of white flowers.

The tree attracts birds, butterflies, bees, koalas, flying foxes and glider possums.

They feed on its nectar and pollen, on its seed pods and also on seeds that fall to the ground. Insects that live on the trunk, branches and leaves are also a food source
